The Meadowdale Basketball Feeder Program is designed to give young players who will be attending Meadowdale High School the opportunity to play together and develop through the program's system. This is a competitive program for 5th through 8th grade teams.

FEEDER PROGRAM MISSION STATEMENT

The Meadowdale Mavericks Boys Basketball Feeder Program aims to provide a positive environment in which 5th-8th grade boys living in the Meadowdale High School service area can improve their skills, build lasting relationships, and increase their chances of being successful varsity basketball players for the MHS program.  We strive to create a culture in which all athletes in the feeder program have a positive experience, first and foremost. Our goal is that the Feeder Program sets the standard for our athletes that having fun and working hard are not mutually exclusive. Athletes will be asked to be committed to the team, the program, and their own individual growth both as a basketball player and as a young leader in the Meadowdale community. In short, if the feeder program accomplishes just two things, we endeavor for it to: (1) provide a steady supply of skilled, fundamental, and hard-working basketball players to the Meadowdale High School program; (2) create an atmosphere in which young athletes are excited about the game of basketball and, more specifically, enthusiastic about playing basketball at Meadowdale High School.

While we expect our athletes and coaches to be competitive and always strive to win, take note that nowhere in the above statement was a goal for feeder championships. We believe the feeder program should be organized and coached in such a way that increases the chances of winning at the High School Varsity level. We expect our feeder coaches to keep this in mind when planning practices and coaching games, and we expect our players to be committed to this vision as well. Fundamental skill development, player character and maturity, work ethic, and program expectations should always take precedent over winning games.
